Raised in Colorado and rooted in creativity, Matt Holloway is a brand builder, creative director, and founder of Rebel Brands — a design studio in Franklin, TN helping visionary individuals and bold brands tell their story with character and clarity.
Matt started his journey in marketing with a BBA from Baylor University, then sharpened his design chops at Portfolio Center in Atlanta, where he studied Design & Art Direction. He went on to build a deep portfolio of agency experience at firms like Fitzgerald + Co, Engauge/Moxie, DigitasLBi, Brunner, and FCB Global—leading creative for iconic brands including Coca-Cola, Chick-fil-A, Delta, and SunTrust.
Over the years, Matt has launched challenger brands, reimagined legacy companies, and helped emerging founders bring their big ideas to life. One standout: ASW Distillery (formerly American Spirit Whiskey), an Atlanta-founded brand Matt helped build from the ground up—now a widely distributed name across the Southeast.
Matt’s also been trusted on the inside—as a Creative Lead at Brookdale in the healthcare sector, and later guiding the rebrand of Belmont University, where he brought a fresh, cohesive identity to one of Nashville’s leading institutions.
In 2010, he joined Project M in Belfast, Maine—an experimental creative residency led by John Bielenberg—collaborating with a global team on a campaign supporting relief efforts after the Gulf oil spill.
His work spans every touchpoint—branding, packaging, digital, TV, social, and out-of-home—and has been recognized with Addy’s, Webbies, OMMA’s, and Amys, and featured in GOOD Magazine, Print, and CMYK.
Today, through Rebel Brands, Matt partners with the crazy ones—the visionaries, founders, and risk-takers—who are building what’s next. His approach is simple: listen closely, design boldly, and always lead with heart.
